All bull-$#!@ aside, this is one of the “Realest” sports car you could possibly own. Is realest even a word? One thing I do know is that the Caterham Superlight R500 is a pure, open wheeled monster. It might not have supermodel credentials but it certainly does have the goods. 0 to 60 miles per hour in a planet gripping 2.88 seconds. This car is in motorcycle performance territory. It’s 2.0 Liter engine puts out 263 bhp @ 8500 rpm and 177 lbs./ft of torque. This vehicle weighs in at 506 kg’s, dripping wet. That’s a power to weight ratio of 520 bhp’s per ton. The top speed in 150 miles per hour. At those speeds I would recommend wearing a helmet because this open top monster is about more than the wind in your hair. The speed surrounds you and requires your every sense and ability. The Caterham is a racing heritage bred vehicle that has been battle tested and tried. There are other Caterham models that are almost as fast as the Superlight R500 however this particular model is replete with all the extra light carbon fibre bits, and stripped down to the barest essentials. This is one vehicle that will not shy away from an Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche or even Bugatti street fight as it is capable on laying down layers of embarrassment. I have seen them on the streets here in Los Angeles and one day soon, I hope to drive one. CATERHAM

I thought you built mass transit systems? That might be a nice look for the mid-age crisis, you know! I enjoyed the article on FORD, they only want to make a certain kind of money.
