Boblbe-e Megalopolis Custom
Back in 1998, I was fortunate enough to get a Boblbee Megalopolis backpack delivered from Amsterdam. It was so futuristic and hi-tech that I rarely used it due to the amount of looks and odd questions I’d get. Questions like, “Does that thing make you fly?”, “Where’s your space ship?” etc, etc. But since then, and because of that it is still in brand new condition so I have recently started using it. My only issue with it for now is that my 17″ Laptop barely squeezes in. It does have a ton of other storage compartments, both internally and separate external compartments that can be removed when not needed. It is also one of the most comfortable packs I’ve ever used. The system of shoulder straps and lower lumbar rest points equalizes the weight around your entire back not just on your shoulders. A couple of days ago I went to the Boblbee website to see if there was anything new to report on. One thing that caught my eye was that they are now categorizing these Megalopolis backpacks as “Back Protector”.
It turns out that the patented hard-shell design provides Certified Class 2 back protection according to the EU Norm EN 1621-2. The Megalopolis shell minimizes impact forces applied to the users back area by distributing the force from the point of impact over as large an area as possible. This reduces the transformed impact energy per area unit. The back pack has been rigorously tested for Motorcyclists, Bicyclists, Skiers, Snowboarders, Skaters. The main protection of the ABS shell is still of course impact resistance for your sensitive gear and electronic equipment.
This brings me to why I am writing this post. The Boblbee Megalopolis Custom, three new custom shell designs, one Black Carbon, One Brushed Aluminum, and an all white Aero Cip model. Enjoy. BOBLBEE

Excellent news. I too suffer the 17″ blues. I’ve been searching with great disappointment as to the available choices, and from time to time I eye my yellow Boblbee backpack hidden in the corner of one of my closets. On my way now to their website.
Thanks again.
Best,
way
