Recon Instruments – GPS Display goggles
From Zeal Optics comes these cool goggles called the Recon Instruments Transcend GPS goggles. These goggles which are designed for skiers and snowboards who go off the grid have a GPS enables display that shows speed, chrono, speed, distance travelled, vertical odometer, temperature and location. You get real-time statistics that could be either life saving or game changing to a competitor. You can also upload Google maps as an overlay. I’m sure they have application for other extreme sports, off road motorcycling, adventure traveling, parachuting, hang gliding just to name a few. The lenses themselves are polarized to reduce 99% of glare. They also have a permanent in-molded anti-fog lens. The goggles are designed to be compatible with helmets and offer a wide vision frame of view. The battery is a rechargeable lithium-ion with a 6-8 hour run time based on operating environment.
