BMX Museum
Boy does this bring back memories. Back in the day, I was a fully sponsored BMX racer. I was only 12 years old, but I raced for Raleigh Bikes. I even had my caricature drawn on the side of my team bus. I was a superstar in my circle. BMX was the sport of choice back in the 70′s in Southern California. I dreamed of riding and racing all day long and couldn’t wait till I got to the track. It all started when I got my first BMX bike. It was a Mongoose, just like the one pictured below. I ended up, replacing almost every part, or breaking every part at least once or twice. Then I had the dream situation happen to me, I got sponsored for a full ride with Raleigh Bikes. I had a uniform by JT Racing, matching helmet by Bell, sneakers by Vans, it was awesome. I ended up leaving BMX because I wanted to play high school sports which I regret now. My high school team sucked. Oh well, at least I can look through the BMX Museum’s pages and reminisce. They’ve got pages and pages of the bikes I grew up with. Little did I know that there are so many people out there who have kept up these cool machines. If only I had known, I’d have kept my bikes for sure. Love it. BMXMUSEUM.COM
