Ramazzotti
The original Milanese cocktail. Ramazzotti amaro, was created by Ausano Ramazzotti in 1815. A herbal doctor, he created this tonic liqueur from herbs and spices including gentian root, rhubarb, cinnamon, and the peel from Sicilian oranges. Today the ingredients remain unchanged and still contain over 33 medicinal herbs and plant roots giving it the characteristic bouquet. Ramazzotti is a sweet and strong liqueur with an unmistakable orange flavor. It also serves as a digestivo, similar but not as harsh as Fernet Branca. Personally, I prefer Ramazzotto on the rocks with a squeeze of lime or orange. It also goes great with any citrus soda. Get ready for summer. Available at most fine liquor stores. RAMAZZOTTI
