Formula 1 World Champion 2008 – Lewis Hamilton
Way to go Lewis!!! What a race, I thought my heart would stop during the last five minutes of the race when the rain began, but it only got worse. Sebastian Vettel passing Lewis after a completely conservative run to preserve at the minimum a 5th place finish, placing him at the lead. Sebastian’s pass pushed Lewis back to 6th place, with only 2 minutes to go. Unbelievably, Timo Glock was still running on slicks and at the last turn, that’s right, the last turn of the last race of the 2008 season, Glock, couldn’t maintain his line allowing, Vettel and Lewis to pass, thus giving Lewis the World Title. The youngest World Formula One Champion and the first Black man in Formula 1. Simply Amazing. I know there was a reason I put you in my Cool Person category. Thanks Lewis!!
