Rolex Milgauss

Understated, simplicity, anti-bling. This ultimate collectors watch from Rolex is one of the most sought after. Retro inspired and modern this watch has the ability to resist a magnetic field of 1,00 Gauss. If you take a mechanical watch into a strong magnetic field some parts of it will become magnetized which will cause it to run fast, thus requiring demagnetization. This Rolex also uses a hairspring made from Parachrom-Blu as opposed to Nivarox, which is unaffected by magnetism. This watch was originally introduced in 1954 for scientist and researchers, power plant workers or anyone who worked around strong magnetic fields. It was sold for about twenty years and then was removed from the Rolex line up. Now the re-issue is slightly larger at 40mm, with 3131 movement. The dials come in white and black with a lightning shaped second hand. A green sapphire crystal, also identifies this special model. From ROLEX.
