La Villa Caletas – Jaco Beach – Costa Rica
“Pura Vida” is how you’ll feel once you arrive at this hilltop resort, where the rain forest meets Jaco Beach. If you want to experience a true paradise, this is the place. About an hour and a half drive from San Jose, you will find La Villa Caletas, a warm oasis of a resort with individual villas that each face the jungle canopy. From my room, I saw the most beautiful birds, monkeys, and other wildlife right outside of my window. Some of the villas even have their own terrace pool. The resort has a fantastic horizon pool that faces Jaco Beach, or you can take the walk down to the beach itself. If you stay a few days I suggest try some of the local eco-tourism experiences, such as jungle canopy hikes, river rafting, surfing, or even a trip to the Arenal Volcano. The Resort also offer an excellent restaurant and room service. After dining you can sit and enjoy the view and listen to soothing music at the cliff side amphitheater. The staff and service was great and I will surely be going back someday.
